Our purpose can be found within the word LIFE

We will Love everyone, Involve ourselves in serving others, embrace our Freedom in Christ, and Empower people to become who God has called them to be.

This statement of purpose is based the teachings of Jesus:

Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:36-40 NIV

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe…” Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Mark 16:15-17, 20 NIV

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

John 8:36 NIV

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.

Ephesians 4: 11-12

Core Values

We will always bring our best, honoring God and inspiring people.

The church isn’t a building, it’s a community. We will find our strength through relationships.

We will lead the way with irrational generosity. We believe it is better to give than to receive.

We will strive to be life-long learners. Always hearing, reading, and going deeper in God’s Word.

Missions is not something we do it’s who we are. We will live for the bigger picture. Taking action locally and globally.

We love our local city and will take responsibility for it.

We will create a place for people to experience Him.

We will love people regardless of race, social standing, and past mistakes.

We will dream big.

We understand that attending a new church can sometimes be an intimidating experience. To help put your heart and mind at ease, we’ve answered some of our most frequently asked questions related to the Take Heart Church experience…

1. What can I expect to find at THC?

At THC, you can expect to find a dynamic community, relevant teachings, contemporary worship, a world-class children’s program, and a place to grow relationships in a loving, judgement-free environment.

2. Where is THC located?

For church services, we meet every Sunday at 9:15am and 10:45am at 1330 Fork Shoals Rd, Greenville, SC 29605.

3. Is it OK to come to THC if I’m not a Christian?

Absolutely! While we desire for everyone to meet and follow Jesus, we’ve had many people from a variety of religious backgrounds attend our church over the years who simply enjoyed the community atmosphere that our church provides.

Rest assured that if you are not a Christian, you are welcome at our church.

4. How do I get plugged into the church?

There are three main routes for getting plugged into THC as quickly as possible.

1. Sign up for one of our Life Groups, where you’ll get to meet members of our community, while engaging in some form of Biblical study.

2. Serve in a ministry team. We believe God has given everybody unique skills and passions to help make the world a better place. If you’re interested in using your talents at THC, you can check out all of our ministries under the “ministries” tab in the top navigation menu on this website. (or wherever we can send people here)

3. There are always a lot of events happening at our church. You can check out all the events in the events section of our website!

5. How accessible is the pastoral staff?

Generally speaking, our pastors are accessible throughout the week and you can find all of our staff contact information on our staff page if you have a question, input, or would like to set up an appointment to meet with them.

If you’re brand new to THC, we recommend stopping by “Guest Services” at the conclusion of the service on any given Sunday, where you can meet THC volunteers, who can answer any questions that you may have regarding THC and give you an overview of our church.

Lastly, if you need prayer, we have our Impact Team ready to pray for you at the conclusion of the message every service.

6. Am I too young or old for THC?

Not at all! While the average age group spans typically 30s through 50s, our church is comprised of a spectrum of people from all age groups and stages of life – from students to the elderly. Everyone is welcome!

7. Is there a dress code?

The only requirement is that you come clothed. Some churches stress wearing your “Sunday best” (e.g., suit and tie), but at THC your Sunday best is simply being yourself. Come as you are!

8. Do I have to give money to the church?

Nope. The offering that we collect on Sundays is for people who call THC their “home” church. If you’re new to THC, your gift to us is your presence!

9. What services do you have available for children?

THC has been blessed to have a world-class children’s and youth program with some amazing teachers. In addition to our children’s nursery, we have classes for two-year old’s all the way up to high school students.
